Questions
How do I set a 8 minute timer?
Press Start on this page. The 8 minute countdown begins straight away and chimes when it reaches zero. No settings needed.
Will it work if I switch tabs?
Yes. The timer stores the exact end time and reads the clock, so it is correct whenever you look. Browsers slow hidden tabs down, so the countdown in the tab title may update only about once a minute while you are elsewhere. The chime is scheduled on the audio clock and normally plays on time on desktop; a locked phone may hold it until you return.
Does the timer keep going if I close the page?
If you reopen this page before it ends, the countdown picks up where it should be, because the end time is saved in your browser. It cannot chime while the page is closed.
What is a 8 minute timer good for?
Eight minutes sits between a short and a long break: useful when you need a real reset but not a full long break.
Can I make the alarm louder?
Yes. Pick “Loud beeps” under the timer and set it to repeat 3 or 5 times. The sound is generated in your browser, so its loudness also depends on your device volume; turn that up and keep the tab unmuted.
What time will it be in 8 minutes?
Below the Start button the page shows the exact clock time a 8 minute countdown started now would finish, worked out from your device’s clock.
